Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the official statement, "A strange confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of forbidden practices and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden cult.
The adventure focuses on "strange tests and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an unique katana together with multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
