Uche Ignites Straightforward Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure straight entry to the knockout stages, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This match provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season proved outmatched against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.
Dominance Established from the Outset
Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace quickly took control. A flowing move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
